A set of four wood placemats with a black epoxy river in the middle. The epoxy is tinted with a black mica powder and is semi-translucent, but appears opaque when placed on a table.
Made from sustainably harvested oak wood that naturally fell down in the Santa Cruz mountains of California.
Finished with a very durable satin conversion varnish. Water slides right off, and they resist scratching, but are not 100% scratch proof.
The placemats are about 15 1/2″ by 11 1/2″, and a little under 1/4″ thick. The wood contains natural variations and texture; please see the individual photos.
Care instructions: Clean with soap and water by hand. DO NOT place in the dishwasher! The placemats should be kept on a flat surface; otherwise they may tend to slightly curl. If they do curl, they can be straightened a bit by warming up the epoxy with a hair dryer and slightly bending it in the middle.
The epoxy takes 30 days to fully cure; don’t leave heavy objects on them for a long period of time until after March 1, 2020.
